Thanks to both Linda and Charles Hartley for their reply.  I am specifically looking at Marriage Bonds in Henry County, VA for the following two brothers who I believe are sons of John Pace b. 1751:
2 Aug. 1847 Marriage Bond  Greenville T. Pace and Lucy C. Trotter.  He had a marriage Bond with Nancy Hughes 28 Aug. 1834.  Was Lucy C. Trotter his second wife?
11 Sept. 1828 Marriage Bond  James B. Pace and Caroline M. Hunter.  Then on 26 Jan. 1847 James B. Pace had a Marriage Bond with Lucy E. Taylor.  Was Lucy E. Taylor his second wife?
