Avant, Jr. The book is a hardcover first edition that is 467 pages in length,
including index. It was published by L’Avant Studios of Tallahassee, Florida
in 1982.

Some Southern Colonial Families is a comprehensive genealogical study of the
families ancestral to the author. Many noted genealogists, including Dr.
Meredith B. Colket, Jr., F.A.S.G. and Timothy Field Beard, F.A.S.G.,
collaborated in the research that went into this genealogy. Many abstracts
and transcriptions of original deeds, censuses, slave purchases, and other
records are included. The genealogy is layout includes sections on
