Claiborne County, Tennessee. She was born 24 August 1828 in Tazewell,
Claiborne County, Tennessee, and died 14 February 1913 in Knoxville, Knox
County, Tennessee.

Notes for MARGARET CHAMBERLAIN MARCUM:
This obituary was found in the vertical files at McClung Archives and is
marked that it is from the K J & T and dated by hand as 15 February 1913

"Householder - Mrs. Margaret C. Householder, aged eighty-four years
died Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of her son, Jos .C.
Householder, at No. 303 Oklahoma Avenue. Funeral services will be
held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from Centenary Methodist Church,
South, of which the deceased was a member. The pastor, Rev. Thos.
Priddy, will officiate. Interment will be in Old Gray Cemetery.

The deceased is survied by three daughters and six sons. The daughters
are Mrs. Sallie White, Mrs. Nannie Miller and Mrs. J.D. O'Brien, all of this
city, and sons ar Messers. W.M., J.M., J., and Rev. O.E. Householder of
Knoxville, and Rev. A.E. Householder of Florida, and L.L. Householder of
Macon, Ga."

Notes for EMMA DIXIE HOUSEHOLDER:
Aunt Dixie Householder lived to be almost 100 years old as did most all of
the Householders. Their roots lie in Sevier County and they all go back
to Uncle Billy that lived to be 103 or so.

Aunt Dixie graduated from Central High School and we have the
Yearbook. She also taught at Central and at Rule.

Notes for LOFTON G. LEWIS:
Lofton Lewis was a Fire Captain in the city of Knoxville, Tennessee and
died on the way to a fire. According to Jack Lewis, Historian for the
Knoxville Fire Department and Lewis Researcher, Lofton had a heart attack
on Western Avenue in the middle of the intersection on the way to a fire.
Dixie drew his Fireman's Pension until the day she died.

Notes for CHARLES (CHARLIE) LEE HOUSEHOLDER:
Major Charles Householder was in both the Spanish American War (1898) and
World War I (1914-1918)...maybe even retired from military. He was issued a
special 1898 pistol before he went to Cuba. It was a 45 automatic pistol.
Patton carried a pearl handled 45 revolver, but they were both standard
issue and you had a side arm of choice. Uncle Charlie's gun was given to
one of Aunt Dixie's nephews.

Major Householder was an Attorney in Knoxville and lived on Prince Street
in the South Knoxville area.

Aunt Mary was his second wife and we still have her single shot 22 with
hexagon barrel. Mary died while living on Prince Street in South
Knoxville, Tennessee and Uncle Charlie went to a nursing home or retirement
home at 723 N 5th Aveune. At that time it was the big house next to Miss
Paul's house and across the street from the Cooper's School of Business at
720 N 5th Ave, Knoxville, Tennessee. Aunt Dixie was living in the
Apartment above the school and Cooper Home.
