Hello all,
We have spent several hours at the local library reviewing loaned microfilm
from the National Archives relating to immigration of young people from
Britain under the auspices of the Salvation Army. Don't know whether these
children will qualify specifically as British Home Children because it
appears that many of them made their own decision to come to Canada.

The portion of the film we reviewed last night covers a period from 1927 to
1929. I have pulled copies of lists and am debating with myself about the
most time efficient manner to prepare them to share with you. I think an
Excel spreadsheet would be the best way for me to capture the information
because my time is quite constrained. The spreadsheet will cover lists of
boys, primarily.

For some reason any girls were often listed separately on their own Form A.
Over the next few days, I will post the girls' names and the details we
found. Then, on the weekend, will start on the spreadsheet that will list
the boys' names. If you are in a hurry to know if your relative is in the
information we have collected, please e-mail me and I'll read through all
the info to see if I can find any reference to your missing person and let
you know.
